La educación ambiental ocupa un significativo espacio en la formación de los docentes en las Escuelas Pedagógicas. Esta constituye uno de los pilares básicos en su proceso formativo, declarado en el modelo del profesional, cuando plantea que al concluir la formación inicial se exige al maestro primario que deben demostrar con su ejemplo y actuación diarios el sistema de conocimientos, valores, principios y normas de la ética profesional pedagógica, que le permita formar en los educandos del nivel primario actitudes, de respeto y cuidado al medio ambiente. Por tal razón, el objetivo de este artículo es: demostrar las potencialidades que ofrecen los contenidos de Química para contribuir desde la tarea docente a la educación ambiental en el proceso de enseñanza aprendizaje de esta asignatura en el segundo año de la carrera Maestro Primario en la Escuela Pedagógica “Rafael M. de Mendive”. Para su realización se utilizaron los métodos histórico–lógico, analítico–sintético y la revisión documental. Estos resultados forman parte del proyecto “Educación Ambiental para docentes y escolares Geosistema Cuenca Hidrográfica Zaza”.
The environmental education has an important place in the training of Pedagogical schools’ teachers. It is one of the basic pillars in the training process, declared in the professional’s model, when it is stated that after concluding the initial training, elementary school teachers must prove with their daily example and actions the system of knowledge, values, principles and norms of the teaching professional ethics that allow them to form in their students’ attitude, respect and core for the environment. Therefore, the objective of this article is to prove the potentials that chemistry subject contents offers, for contributing to the environmental education in the teaching-learning process of this subject in the second year of the career: Elementary School Teacher in the Pedagogical School “Rafael M. de Mendive” from the teaching task. Different scientific methods were used such as historical-logical, analytic-synthetic and the document analysis. These outcomes are derived from the project: Environmental Education for teachers and students “Geosystem Hydraulic Zaza Basin”
