Abstract
Introduction. Visual-motor coordination involves controlled movement activities, that is, they require a lot of precision, where the manual eye processes are used simultaneously (eye, hand, fingers), such as actions such as writing. Visual-motor skills are essential for children to achieve legible and satisfactory writing, which is why their development is extremely important. Aim. Apply exercises for the development of visual-motor coordination in first grade students of the Bernardo Arias Castillo school of the Municipality of Sancti Spíritus. Materials and methods. Theoretical methods were applied (historical-logical, analytical-synthetic, inductive-deductive, modeling), empirical methods (pedagogical observation, analysis of the products of the activity, experiment), descriptive statistics and percentage analysis were used as statistical methods. Results and discussion. It was confirmed in the diagnosis that schoolchildren are unable to adequately reproduce different images, strokes, shapes, whether by writing, drawing or cutting despite the differentiated attention they have received. The exercises that were designed are based on the diagnosis and enhance visual-motor development. Conclusions. The application of the proposal in the educational practice of the Bernardo Arias Castillo primary school allowed us to verify its effectiveness, through the implementation of a pedagogical pre-experiment
