Abstract

Sexuality, as a part of the development processes of adolescence, increases the risks of infecting with STIs, HIV and AIDS. The frequent change of partner and the scarce use of preventive methods are frequent at this stage. A complete education about STIs, HIV and AIDS can have a greater effect during adolescence, a stage where individuals are easier to model. Therefore, the objective of this article is to characterize the different types of STIs, HIV and AIDS. A satisfying knowledge about forms of transmission, forms of prevention, interests, and the systematic use of protection measures constitute a challenge for the integral formation of Cuban students.
