Abstract
The current research constitutes a starting point towards a new conception of the treatment of the coordination capacity of balance in pioneer fencers of the Mártires de Barbados sports team of the municipality of Sancti Spíritus. Part of one of the demands of the national high performance management in Cuba regarding the use of proprioceptive exercises within teaching and training classes, and the weaknesses presented by the practitioners of this sport in the 2022 pioneering event, related to the balance during the execution of the techniques that are evaluated there as part of the pedagogical objectives to be achieved. Sports initiation is taken as an object of research and as a field of special coordinative abilities and their development through proprioceptive exercises, setting its objective on applying a set of proprioceptive exercises that facilitate the improvement of balance during the execution of technical actions. to win by fencing practitioners. The research work materializes with 9 female pioneer category fencing practitioners (11 – 12 years old) enrolled in the aforementioned team. An experimental design is applied, in its pre-experiment variant through a pre-test and post-test, for the same group. The results obtained after the inclusion of proprioceptive exercises in fencing classes are satisfactory as high increases are observed in the percentages of practitioners evaluated as good from one test to another.
