Abstract
The massive production of agrofuel alcohol, in particular, starting from the first crisis of the XX century with the fossil fuels, has motivated a significant increase of the vinasses that are originated in an unavoidable way. Besides, vinasses have several uses such as the environmental mitigation. In such sense, a minireview with emphasis in Brazil and Cuba was carried out about the experiences in the use of the vinasses originated from bioethanol production, in fertigation of the sugar cane. This fertigation is the most generalized way in the sucro – alcohol countries and makes possible to mitigate its environmental impact. Its viability was demonstrated by substitution of chemical fertilizers of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium (NPK) formulation, with increase of the cane agricultural output and saving of water when closing a hydric cycle. In rainy season, because of the soils are saturated of humidity, dangers of free drainage for rivers, streams and dams among other are originated. Therefore, it is not convenient to use this alternative in this season, at least in countries from the Caribbean, Center and South America. The application of the fertigation proposed in this article will be previously approved by means of containment of risks’ studies, legislation of environmental viability, evaluation of cost-benefits and socio-cultural context of the areas of cane agricultural.
