The present research on active methodology to improve learning in the area of science, technology and environment seeks to contribute to the improvement of the teaching-learning process, for this reason it aimed to contribute to developing capacities for environmental culture from two theoreticalmethodological processes, Ausubel's meaningful learning and Buzan's mind maps. The methodology corresponds to a quantitative type investigation, explanatory level, where I analyze the variable, based on descriptive and inferential statistics. Using the questionnaire as an instrument. The information collected was processed in SPSS 25. Among the most significant results we have that, 67% of the students do not assume the commitment to care for and protect the environment; 75% of those do not promote the execution of programs related to caring for the environment; 67% do not put effort into sowing and permanently caring for the plants; 64% of the student’s state that they do not organize dissemination campaigns in defense of flora and fauna. Among the most significant conclusions is that the active methodological strategy of the mental map allows to develop in an organized and systematic way the significant capacities of students in environmental culture included in the area of Science, Technology and Environment.
