Abstract
Introduction: The research titled "Relation of vegetation with environmental impacts in the San Diego River” brings man closer to nature. The need for development in science has caused resource exploitation techniques to be more efficient. This helps to improve climate change mitigation, in addition to protecting soils and water as part of the world's terrestrial biodiversity. Objective:To determine the environmental impacts and their effects on the existing vegetation in the upper part of the San Diego River. Methods: In the original research article, theoretical research methods were used, such as: the historical-logical, analysis-synthesis, inductive-deductive. The empirical methods used were: observation and analysis of documents. Results: Among the environmental impacts found are the use of the riverbank for agriculture, use of the basin for raising pigs, deforestation of the riverbank for wood, and pasture areas in parts of the river. Conclusions: According to the canonical correspondence analysis where the species are projected on the environmental impacts, it was demonstrated that in quadrant two where the disturbances are found-use of the basin for raising pigs, dikes to store water in times of extreme drought, extraction of sand for construction-, there are the species Guazumaulmifolia (Guasima),Roystonearegia (Palma Real), andClusiarosea (Copey),which can generally be used as animal feed.
