Abstract

Introduction: The use of antibiotics in animal feed has been questioned due to the loss of effectiveness and the increase in bacterial resistance to them. Consequently, many alternatives began to be evaluated to establish other substances with similar beneficial effects, such as probiotics, prebiotics and acidifiers. Objectives: The objective of the research was to evaluate the effect of the nutritional supplement on the productive behavior of piglets. Material & Methods: Three groups of 10 sows each were formed, with 10 piglets per litter. The treatments consisted of: I- Control; II- The piglets were given, orally, 3 mL of the supplement on the day of birth and at 3 days of age, from 10 days onwards it was mixed once a day with the food, until 28 days of age. ; III- Same as II, but 5 mL was supplied. The variables under study were: Initial weight, Final weight, Weight increase, Feed conversion, Mortality and Diarrhea. Results & Discussion: Significant statistical differences (p<0.05) were found in the variables: piglets weaned per sow, final weight of the litter, weight gain and feed consumption. Diarrhea and deaths were also significantly reduced (p<0.05) in those treated. The 5 mL dose showed the best results, the piglets treated with this dose showed a weight increase greater than the controls of 34.7 %. VIUSID DETOX vet is a new nutritional supplement that combines the benefits of probiotics with the antioxidant, antiviral and immunomodulatory effect of the other molecularly activated components. It is designed to improve health status, prevent diseases and increase production in different species. Conclusion: It is concluded that the supplement significantly improves the productive behavior of piglets, especially in doses of 5 mL Key Word: VIUSID DETOX, Piglet, Probiotic, Nutritional supplement, Molecular activation.
