Abstract
Introduction: The current flow of information is quite extensive, and children receive a great deal of information about current and past events in the social life of their country and their immediate surroundings. However, this knowledge cannot be considered within their reach if it is not presented in an accessible, coherent manner that seeks to be of interest to them. Two interrelated factors intervene in the formation of representations about social life: the intellectual and the moral. This is precisely because representations enrich feelings and a positive emotional disposition toward social phenomena, helping to better assimilate knowledge and more clearly express these representations. Objective: To implement a variety of activities that contribute to enhancing preschool children's knowledge of the city and the countryside. Materials and Methods: A diagnostic assessment was conducted using various methods. Eleven children were observed. An observation guide was used. Results and Discussion: The assessment identified the main strengths and difficulties presented by the children in the sample. Based on these results, the various activities implemented, supported by different means, were determined. Conclusions: The various activities implemented were tailored to the needs of the sampled subjects and demonstrated their effectiveness, as the sampled subjects underwent transformation.
