Abstract
Introduction: Stuttering is one of the best-known speech defects, characterized by a disorder in the fluency of verbal expression. Studies on stuttering are gradually advancing; the specific causes of stuttering are still being delved into, although everything indicates that We must think of a multi-causal origin; various theories have been found that, from different perspectives, attempt to explain this problem. Therefore, the primary teacher must know the ways and procedures that contribute to the compensation of stuttering in his or her students. Objective: Apply activities aimed at preparing teachers to compensate for stuttering. Materials and Methods: Methods from the theoretical level were used: inductive-deductive, synthetic analytical, historical-logical and methods from the empirical level: observation, interview, pre-experiment and descriptive statistics. Results and Discussion: The diagnosis carried out allowed us to identify the main strengths and weaknesses that the teachers know the definition of stuttering and its manifestations, in addition to having interest and willingness to prepare. Together, they have limitations in the domain of knowledge and in the application of procedures, methods and ways to compensate for stuttering. Conclusions: Methodological workshops are designed that respond to the needs of the teachers and it is corroborated after applied that they contribute to their orientation in relation to the compensation of stuttering.
