Abstract
The research addresses a necessary topic to contribute to the motivation for Spirituan music among secondary school students, focusing on the rescue of traditions. This study will enable students to gain a comprehensive understanding of the music from their locality. The empirical methods applied in the initial diagnosis of group 7.2 at the ESBU Juan Manuel Feijóo in Jatibonico revealed a general lack of knowledge about Spirituan music. Additionally, it was found that students showed a lack of motivation for this type of music, as their preferences leaned towards foreign music. To address this issue, the objective of the research was established as applying extracurricular activities to foster motivation for Spirituan music. The dialectical materialist method is the guiding principle of this investigative study, which also relied on theoretical methods such as historical-logical analysis, analysissynthesis, and induction-deduction. The use of statistical procedures allowed for outlining the current state and the development of the proposal. The final results support both the theoretical and practical validity of the scientific outcome
