Abstract
Introduction: Speech therapists, as professionals of social communication, have the ability to express their ideas and act in the context of school, family and community. To successfully perform their educational work, they need skills to explain concepts accurately, attend attentively to students' interventions during language assessment and communicate their thoughts clearly. Objective: To apply learning tasks that contribute to the development of oral communicative competence in students of the Bachelor's Degree in Speech Therapy Education. Methods: Qualitative and quantitative procedures and techniques were coherently combined, based on an understanding of the dialectical materialist method as a general method of science. Different theoretical, empirical, mathematical, and/or statistical methods were applied: analysis and synthesis, induction-deduction, historical-logical, scientific observation, surveys, interviews, experiments, expert criteria, and descriptive statistics. Results: The actions of the learning tasks for the development of the oral communicative competence of speech therapist teachers, as well as the recommendations for their evaluation are the results of this research. They can constitute useful tools for developing the oral communicative competence, as a professional pedagogical competence in the degree. Conclusions: The proposed learning tasks are based on a historical-cultural approach and the need for adequate communication to transform future professionals into competent communicators, focused on the continued development of Higher Pedagogical Education. It has been demonstrated that the development of oral communicative competence is achieved in students of Speech Therapy programs.
