Abstract
The promulgation of the Constitution of Ecuador in 2008 marked a significant change in the structure of the State, redefining the competences and responsibilities of the different powers and institutions. In this framework, the Constitutional Court emerges as the body with the exclusive power to interpret the Constitution, consolidating itself as an autonomous and independent pillar within the Ecuadorian judicial system. The objective of the study lies in analyzing how the regulations that rule the Constitutional Court of Ecuador contribute to guaranteeing its autonomy and independence. To address this issue, a qualitative research approach was used, accompanied by techniques such as bibliographic review and analysis of the state of the art. The results enabled to identify and discuss precedent cases in which the Constitutional Court has exercised its authority, protecting constitutional principles and preserving the balance of powers. Thus, it was positively concluded that the regulations ruling the Constitutional Court of Ecuador effectively guarantee the autonomy and independence of the body, in alignment with the Constitution, and that it is supported by a solid internal regulatory framework.
