Abstract
Grupo II
The initial formation of the primary teacher in Cuba is distinguished and particularized in each concrete historical moment. During the colonial period arise the Normal Schools. From this date, there are ups and downs in the opening, operation and closure of these centers, which extend to the period of American Military Intervention and throughout the Neocolonial Republic. Beginning in 1959, training is conducted in a coherent, articulated and stable manner. The process has been carried out by the Schools of Primary Teachers (1959-1961), the Minas Gerais, Topes, Tarará (1961-1974) schools, primary teacher training schools (1974- 1998) and Pedagogical Schools (2009- present) As training models. Revealing the particularities and main features of these training models is a necessity. Consequently the present article aims to describe the historical evolution of the process of regular training of primary teachers in Cuba.
