Abstract
the problems associated with inadequate waste management constitute one of the main challenges to environmental awareness and the well-being of communities. In this context, the present research aimed to determine the influence of environmental awareness strategies on the recycling and waste management practices of residents of the 15 de Noviembre neighborhoods, belonging to the Santa Rosa parish, during the period 2025-2026. The study was conducted using a quantitative approach, with a descriptive and correlational scope, based on the positivist paradigm and the deductive method. The information was obtained through the application of a structured questionnaire with a Likert scale to a sample of 226 residents, selected from a population of 548 inhabitants using simple random probability sampling. The data collected allowed for the evaluation of the level of knowledge, participation, and civic commitment to the environmental education actions implemented in the community. The findings showed that the training processes favored the adoption of behaviors oriented toward environmental protection, strengthening social responsibility in solid waste management. It was concluded that permanent educational initiatives represent an effective alternative to consolidate sustainable habits, promote community participation and contribute to the improvement of environmental quality and local sustainable development.
