Abstract

This paper aims to show the utility and benefits obtained in the Provincial Balancing Authorities (DPC, Spanish acronym) of the Cuban National Electric Union (UNE, Spanish acronym) with the implementation of the applications Topology Server and its client Switching acting together, after having carried out a national checkup to substantiate the results. The process of developing these two applications was undertaken after corroborating that the tools existing in the world did not suit the Cuban context. It was guided by the SCRUM-PU methodology as a merger of SCRUM and the Unified Process. For modeling the software, the Enterprise Architect was used, which allows the use of the UML language. Software coding was done in IDE Visual Studio 2015 using C# language and .NET Remoting technology to guarantee two-way communication between the client application and the server. The solutions were developed as part of the Network Management System (SIGERE) in constant development and improvement by the Information Technology and Automation Enterprise (ATI) of UNE. The requirements of the end user were met and the control of the electrical network is guaranteed by centralizing information, the availability and coherence of the data, as well as the interaction between users to make the work flow coordinately.
