En los últimos años y como consecuencia de la pandemia generada por la Covid-19, la familia ha estado sometida a fuertes cambios en su funcionamiento. Uno de los fenómenos que con más fuerza emerge en este contexto familiar es la violencia psicológica, la que asoma en forma de humillaciones, desvalorizaciones, amenazas y abuso de la autoridad paternal. El estudio que se presenta se centra en identificar las limitaciones que presenta la orientación familiar para la prevención de la violencia psicológica, en la escuela “Serafín Sánchez”. En el proceso de indagación científica se utilizaron métodos e instrumentos teóricos y empíricos. Las principales limitaciones identificadas se centraron en que no se considera la violencia psicológica en las familias como un problema latente y poco orientado desde la escuela; se priorizan los análisis sobre el aprendizaje de los escolares y los temas relacionados con la prevención del consumo de drogas y la educación de la sexualidad desde las Escuelas de educación familiar. Para contribuir a solucionar el problema de la investigación se proponen talleres de orientación familiar que en su estructura metodológica poseen cuatro momentos esenciales: momento inicial, plan temático, elaboración y el de cierre. Los talleres de orientación familiar para la prevención de violencia psicológica fueron evaluados por especialistas en Psicopedagogía quienes valoraron su pertinencia y necesidad de llevar a la práctica.
