dc.description.abstract	This mayor paper makes a deep analysis of the most updated theory related to the importance of the independent work in the teaching-learning process and the preparation of the individuals to face the contemporary challenges the global society is imposing, due to fast development of the technologies and the spreading of almost daily theories entailed to educational topics. For the realization of the work different scientific methods were used to support the criteria selected by the author to find the contradictions that evidence the reality of a scientific problem. Also, this paper establishes different activities to be done by Secondary School Students that will reinforce their individual cognitive development by the realization of the independent work	es_ES
